NEW 2008 COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (CDOT) DISPARITY STUDY

 

A new Disparity Study is underway to determine whether or not, and to what extent, remedial programs for racial or gender discrimination are appropriate for CDOT.  The Study will determine what facts, if any, exist to support current and future efforts for programs that enhance the use of minority-and-woman-owned businesses.  CDOT is looking for firms in highway construction, design or engineering that have an interest in doing business with CDOT.

The Denver Office of Economic Development Division of Small Business Opportunity is offering it free two-hour training and informational seminar on how certify your business as a:

 

· Small Business Enterprise (SBE)

· Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)

· Airport Concessionaire Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE)

· Airport Concessionaire Small Business Enterprise (ACSBE)

· Women Business Enterprise (WBE)

Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)

 

1st Hour:  Overview of different certification programs and introduction to the construction empowerment initiative ordinance

 

2nd Hour:  Walkthrough of the Unified Certification Process (UCP) Application.
